This page summarises the main points on what is and what is not covered, and the main conditions for participation in Skydiving. If your holiday plans for Skydiving do not seem to be covered, please contact us by email to explain your requirements.

Skydiving - What is covered:
  • Days specified for Skydiving, which can be added online via the link http://www.etravelinsure.com/Add_cover_now.aspx at additional premium of €4.00 per day. If you cannot participate on a day, as long as you email us to that effect, at the latest by 10am local time on the day, a credit will be given for the cost of the day, to be refunded at the end of your trip.
  • Amateur participation : Cover is for 'safe and normal' participation as an amateur, to amateur competition level, in safe conditions, with no time limit on participation.
  • Medical & Repatriation costs : are costs incurred due to an accident or illness sustained abroad (outside your Home Country); it covers transport to a suitable hospital to receive necessary emergency medical treatment, and for being repatriated if necessary. Please read Section(A) of the policy for full details of Medical cover.
  • Skydiving with travel insurance : This is a Travel Insurance policy, not activity top-up insurance, therefore the period of cover as per your certificate of insurance must be for the whole duration of a trip, not just the period of participating in Skydiving. Insurance must be taken out prior to departure from your home country. Normal travel insurance applies when not participating in Skydiving.
  • Rescue costs : costs of transport to a suitable hospital are covered under Section (A) of the policy only when emergency medical treatment is needed.
Skydiving - What is not covered :
  • Participating whilst in USA is not covered.
  • Personal Liability is not covered (that is you causing injury or damage) when Skydiving; therefore, it is essential to have this type of cover from some other source, usually through your Skydiving organisation.
  • Personal Accident is not covered (compensation for death or permanent disablement), not to be confused with emergency medical costs which are covered.
  • Skydiving Equipment
  • Dangerous expeditions - there is a General Exclusion for going anywhere that is extremely remote, or which is outside the range of normal rescue facilities.

You can take out our travel insurance; there is no extra cost, but it must cover the whole duration of a trip, not just the period spent Skydiving. However, you can discount the charge for our travel insurance by not having cover for Personal Belongings, or just having cover for Essentials, and by vary the standard excess. These are options on taking out insurance that can reduce the cost.
