Skydiving - What is covered:
  • Medical & Repatriation costs : the costs due to an accident or illness sustained abroad (outside your Home Country); for being taken to a suitable hospital to receive necessary emergency medical treatment, and for being repatriated if necessary. Please read Section(A) of the policy for full details.
  • Skydiving as an Activity : Skydiving is classified as a High Risk Activity, for which the terms and conditions are set out in our Schedule of Activities, via sports & activities link above.
  • Skydiving with travel insurance : This is a travel insurance policy, not activity top-up insurance, therefore the period of cover as per your certificate of insurance must be for the whole duration of a trip, not just the period of participating in skydiving, and normal travel insurance applies when not participating in skydiving.
  • Higher Excess limit : There is no extra charge for this cover for skydiving, but, to compensate for there being no extra charge, there is a higher Excess in the event of a claim. The Excess, which is the first part of any claim that you pay, is £500 for High Risk Activities, rather than the normal excess for Schedule (A) which is £80.
Skydiving - What is not covered :
  • Skydiving - Personal Liability (that is you causing injury or damage) when skydiving; therefore, it is essential to have this type of cover from some other source, usually through your skydiving organisation.
  • Skydiving - Personal Accident (compensation for death or permanent disablement), not to be confused with emergency medical costs which are covered.
  • Skydiving - Equipment - the full value of your equipment will probably not be adequately covered, see Section (M) Personal Possessions, as sports equipment is only covered to a maximum of £250.

IMPORTANT CONDITIONS: Make sure that your drop zone is approved for use by a local or national regulatory authority, and has appropriate liability and equipment insurance.

Only participate if properly organised, and wear all the recommended safety gear.

Ensure that weather conditions and official forecasts of conditions are suitable for 'safe and normal' participation for your level of experience, throughout the whole jump sequence.

There is no time limit on participation, as an amateur to amateur competition level.

If you already have Travel Insurance, but require cover for skydiving : You can take out our travel insurance; it must cover the whole duration of a trip. However, you can discount the charge for our travel insurance by not having cover for cancellation, baggage and double excess. These are options on taking out insurance that can reduce the cost by 30%. The discount to double the excess limit does not apply to the excess limits for Medium and High Risk Activities.

Age Limits:
  • For Single Trip and Annual options, those aged under 66
  • Long Stay Backpacker is only for adults aged under 40.
