Student Travel Insurance - work holiday adventure

Travel to Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia: Our Area 2 is to travel to "Australia and New Zealand", as a final destination. Special rates apply for long stay travel to Australia and New Zealand with an allowance to stopover elsewhere worldwide. For example, the allowance is 36 days stopover during a 12 month trip. This is specially designed to give reasonable time for visiting South East Asia, on the outward or return leg to Australia or New Zealand, or split between both.

Travel duration of 13 months for the price of 12 : When you slect Area 2 Australia and New Zealand, you can also select 13 months, and the cost is the same as for 12 months, and INCLUDES a total stopover allowance of 39 days to stay elsewhere worldwide, either on outward or return leg to Australia or New Zealand, or split between both.

You do not necessarily have to have booked your return travel arrangements before taking out the insurance, but you are expected to plan to return home by the expiry date. You can extend the period of cover whilst you are away, up to 12 months, and possibly longer, by applying to us by email for the extension BEFORE the expiry of the original period. We regret that if you have already made a claim, or a claim is pending, an extension in not permitted. An extension over 12 months is not quananteed, however for it to be considered favourably you should be genuinely tavelling with a definite return date, not just staying in the same place for longer.

ACTIVITIES

Adventure Sports Over 100 holiday activities, adventure sports and some extreme sportsare covered at no extra charge, with no time limit on 'safe and normal' participation. All the types of travel insurance include cover for such sports as: Skydiving, Hang-gliding, Bungee Jumping, Mountain Biking, White Water Rafting, High-Altitude Trekking, Snow Skiing, Snowboarding + many others; to amateur competition level. Sports, activities and work : are divided into categories in the Schedule of Activities: (1) Holiday, (2) Work, (3) Winter Sports, (4) Medium Risk and (5) High Risk. As there is no extra charge, for more dangerous activities in categories (4) and (5) higher medical excess amounts apply, and there are some restrictions on cover. Winter Sports Winter Sports activities are included at no extra charge within our High Risk category of activities, which provides cover for medical and repatriation costs.

Altitude Trekking : UK insurers cover altitude trekking to maximum altitude of 4000m. Cover for trekking at altitudes over 4000m may be given on application to us for referral to UK insurers.

University or work overseas : Temporary returns home between terms of education, or as a planned part of an overall trip, are permitted; during a temporary return cover is suspended whilst you are in your Home Country, and for further travel Abroad there will be no cover under policy Sections (E) Travel Delay, (F) Baggage Delay, (G) Missed Departure, and (0) Cancellation. The most important aspect of cover; (A) Medical and Repatriation comes into effect again after departure from you home county. Please let us know prior to taking out the insurance if you plan to return home for more than one month at any one time during the period of insuance.

Adventure Activities: cover for adventure activities including snow skiing, snow boarding and many other holiday activities is covered at no extra cost. Some activities have specific restrictions and vary by country of residence, so check the policy wording for exact details. Paragliding and skydiving are NOT included.

'Hazardous Sports' Coverage : Additional 15% is charged optionally to cover non-competitive: motorcycle/motor scooter riding, hang gliding and paragliding, parachuting (including skydiving), bungee jumping, water skiing, snow skiing, snowmobiling, and snow boarding.
