SECTION (A) MEDICAL EMERGENCY & REPATRIATION
If you require emergency medical treatment whilst on a Trip as a result of: an injury sustained in an Accident, or an illness which first shows itself during a Trip,


You are covered for: reasonable and necessary costs that our Emergency Service agree to in advance for:
(1) transport to a suitable hospital, hospital accommodation, medical, surgical or other treatment, given or prescribed by a Qualified Medical Practitioner
(2) in the event of death, conveying the body or ashes to your Home Country
(3) repatriation on medical grounds by whatever means is agreed by our Emergency Service, and, for Short Trip and Annual Insurance, the return Home if necessary of all insured persons
And, up to specific limits on certain costs, shown in your Schedule of Cover for:
(4) unauthorised Costs - costs for treatment prescribed by a Qualified Medical Practitioner, which have not been authorised by our Emergency Service in advance
(5) emergency dental - costs for emergency dental treatment
(6) burial Abroad - costs of burial or cremation in the country where death occurs
(7) additional support - costs of economy class travelling and room accommodation for one relative or friend who is a resident of your Home Country, and who, on medical advice, must stay with you and/or accompany you Home.

For a claim: in an emergency contact our Emergency Service immediately, and you must provide the required Evidence of Loss (not already available to our Emergency Service). General Exclusions apply, in particular those headed Medical and Behaviour,
and specific exclusions are:
(1) any treatment not confirmed by a Qualified Medical Practitioner as being medically necessary for the relief of pain and suffering, or which could reasonably be postponed until after your return Home
(2) any amount recoverable under a Reciprocal Health Care Agreement with another country
(3) medication and / or treatment which is known to be required or continued whilst you are Abroad
(4) costs that arise after you have refused the offer of repatriation when in the opinion of our Emergency Service you are fit to travel by the means arranged
(5) additional costs of a private or single room at hospital unless approved by our Emergency Service
(6) costs that arise over 6 months after a claim was first notified
(7) costs incurred in your Home Country other than in transporting you or your remains Home from Abroad.
