  Etravelinsure Schedule of Activities

For over 100 sports and adventure activities, divided into 7 Categories.
There is no time-limit on participation of any activities.

There is no extra charge for activities in categories 1, 2, 4 and 5. Categories 4 and 5 provide Medical and Repatriation cover only, and higher excess levels apply.

Parachuting, Skydiving, Paragliding and Hang-gliding are in category 6, covered under Section (U), at additional premium. Participating in USA is not covered.

Winter sports in category 3 is for conventional winter sports cover under Section (P) of the policy. All are also listed in category 5 providing medical and repatriation cover only.

You are covered for: ‘safe and normal’ participation in the sports and activities described below, as an amateur to amateur competition level. ‘Safe and normal’ participation means firstly that: .

(a) you are reasonably fit and competent to take part;
(b) you take notice of local warnings of danger or adverse weather conditions;
(c) you participate in safe areas and/or areas covered by rescue facilities;
(d) you have the necessary qualification or licence if such is needed to participate;
(e) you wear suitable protective clothing and head gear;
(f) you observe the recognised safely procedures of the sport or activity.

In any event, you are expected to wear an appropriate hard helmet when exposed to projectiles, or when riding vehicles or animals, or whenever travelling at speed, or for aerial activities, and to wear a personal floatation device for surface water sports. Besides which, cover for safe and normal participation is provided on certain basic conditions for individual activities as shown in the tables below.

 
         
  BASIC CONDITIONS FOR SAFE AND NORMAL PARTICIPATION IN ACTIVITIES  
  (1) You are accompanied by, or accessible to, an experienced and/or suitably qualified instructor or guide.
(2) You are properly supervised, taking part in an organised event, match, game, session or outing.
(3) You are using natural or purpose-built facilities approved for use for the activity by a local or national regulatory authority.
  For certain activities the condition is that cover under other sections of the policy is excluded:
(4) cover under policy section (C) PERSONAL ACCIDENT.
(5) cover under policy section (J) PERSONAL LIABILITY.
The condition numbers are annotated to the categories or activities to which they apply below.

  6. PARACHUTING, SKYDIVING, PARAGLIDING, HANG-GLIDING
Section (U) of the policy applies. Additional premium is payable for cover under this section.
 
  Section (U) provides cover for participating in Parachuting, Skydiving, Paragliding or Hang-gliding,
EXCLUDING participating whilst in United States of America (USA)
 
  You are covered for: Medical Emergency and Repatriation costs, and Search and Rescue costs, due to participating in these activities.

The full terms and conditions that apply are already contained in the policy under sections: (A) MEDICAL EMERGENCY & REPATRIATION, (T) SEARCH & RESCUE.
Apart from the conditions for 'safe and normal' participation above, the following further conditions apply for:
Parachuting and Skydiving: the diving provider and drop-zone are authorised by a local or national regulatory authority.
Paragliding and Hang-gliding: (a) the launch area is a natural or purpose-built area that is recognised or approved by a local on national regulatory authority, (b) you are supervised at least to the extent that your flight-plan is known to someone on the ground.

You are not covered for: participate in parachuting, skydiving, paragliding or hang-gliding whilst in United States of America (USA). And, whilst participating in theses activities, you are not covered under other sections of the policy, such as, section (C) PERSONAL ACCIDENT, (J) PERSONAL LIABILITY and (M) PERSONAL POSSESSIONS.

 
  7. REFERRAL ACTIVITIES
cover is not provided for hazardous sports or activities that are not described above. Cover may be provided on referral:
 
  For referral contact Etravelinsure Limited by email with all relevant details of when, where, how long you plan to participate, any medical problems, and your experience. Further conditions may apply. Your Certificate of Insurance will be endorsed with the level of cover agreed.
Possible Referral Activities (for Section (A) Emergency Medical & Repatriation cover only) are:
Motorcycle touring for experienced riders using their own bikes; Cycle touring for properly equipped and experienced cyclists; Altitude Trekking over 4000m in properly organised expeditions using prescribed trails, such as: Mount Kilimanjaro, Inca Trail, High Atlas, Everest Base Camp, or any other altitude trekking.
  Ø OFF PISTE SKIING AND SNOWBOARDING
(Special Terms and Conditions)
 
  Within designated safe areas: Off Piste Skiing and boarding within areas that are designated as being safe by the resort management is not covered (excluded) unless the following requirements are adhered to: (a) 'Check out' and 'check in' ie. you must let somebody know where you are going, how many are in the group, and when you are likely to return, and report back accordingly; (b) A minimum of four people to ski together in a group; (c) Avalanche transceivers must be worn.
Outside designated safe areas: Off Piste Skiing and boarding outside areas that are designated as being safe by the resort management is not covered (excluded) unless the following requirements are adhered to: the reguirements as detailed (a), (b), (c) above, and you must be accompanied by a qualified mountain guide who has knowledge of the resort.
 
  ** SCUBA DIVING
(Special Terms and Conditions)
 
  General: (a) All divers must be accompanied by a qualified Dive Instructor, except in circumstances where they are themselves qualified to dive without an Instructor, in which case diving must be with a companion on a 'buddy pair' basis. (b) Diving work of any kind is not covered. (c) Any illness or loss due to air travel within 24 hours of diving is not covered.
Levels of cover: (1) Holiday Category (above) covers divers with no grade/qualification to a maximum depth of 18m, and divers with a BSAC/PADI or equivalent grade/qualification to the maximum depth that their grade permits, or to a maximum depth of 30m (if their grade permits).
(5) High Risk Category (below) covers divers going over 30m to a maximum depth limit of 40m provided that their BSAC/PADI or equivalent grade/qualification permits.
